New Year’s Day

At the Atherton’s. Nice people, nice dogs (and Bill came along too), a drink or two and a sad little collapse into bed at half past ten with the kiddies.

The Jake/Queani boys are starting to grow up a little- Boss is the most serious, still the most like his mum and a bit softish, while Ollie is just a great big sweet pup who has some growing up to do. Boss will stay here, Ollie will probably be looking for a new home soon.

Copper was an unexpected Christmas gift, and if things work out he might be my new trial prospect. His first time on sheep looked okay- I just need to work out how to catch him!

Could it be?

Is that... blue sky?
Dogs frolicking in the warm sunshine?

BLOSSOMS?
You'd almost think it was spring!

Trying to photograph pretty spring scenery:

Tom can't conceive that there could be anything prettier than him.

"I think this is my better side"

I can't imagine where he gets it from, eh Fred?

Of course, Tom is pretty...

"Pretty? Pfffft!"

Elvis, take that look off your face!

Thank you.

Sally's pretty too.

And Esme.

OMG, the sudden warmth has created a dog-eating pasture!

Ziggy, stuck in the quick-grass

Moffy quickly succumbs...

Either I'm sinking into the grass too, or I have a lopsided head.

Muddy and Finbar work on their entries in the "longest tongue" competition:

But Bart has that one in the bag!

Of course, that was yesterday. Just the universe having a twisted little joke.

Today we return to the scheduled programming: single digit temperatures, horizontal rain, and chipping the ice off the windscreen in the morning.
Ah, spring.

Keeping Australia beautiful

Some people rely on Flylady or other clutter busting services to keep their place tidy.

We have Bart.

He's our Verandah Tidy System. Anything left unattended and unsecured will be removed overnight, dissected and arranged artistically on the back lawn every morning.

Who, me??

We're learning very quickly to keep the verandah tidy.

And sometimes I'm a little bit tempted to let him into the house.

Looking shifty:

Stalking up on an unsuspecting piece of clutter:

Looks like Fred's bum may be next:

Fred looks really worried:

Bill can't imagine destroying anything:

Nope, certainly not the sort of thing Bill would do:

Bart cleans camera lenses too:

So if anyone thinks their place needs a bit of a tidy-up and has an opening for a neurotic nutless midget with a bizarrely smooth coat, Boylee Bart might be interested. You'd need to be very very special though.

Better?

This morning, as I took my dogs out for a walk, I started thinking that this blog just doesn't have enough photos of dogs running about in a madcap fashion.

Fred, Pinky, Queani, Trim, Bill and Bart

Muddy, Finbar, Elvis, Fred and Bill

Sybil, Muddy, Elvis, Fin and Fred

There.

That's much better, isn't it?
